No.15 Finds: Checkered Pattern

We’re in the last quarter of 2023 but we’ve spent the majority of the year celebrating the 90’s. The patterns, color stories and silhouettes have had a 90’s feel that we all remember well. One trend in particular that has been at the forefront of design and is a beloved classic for most designers is the checkered pattern. And we are seeing it everywhere! In tile, rugs, bedding, pillows, furniture and accessories. It’s classic in form, but because of the current styling and color themes incorporated it’s softer, more balanced and flows beautifully throughout a space. 

What we love about a checkered pattern is how easily it layers into a design, juxtaposing between playful and sophisticated. It brings out the depth of the patterns and colors it accompanies, making it the star  of the room while maintaining a subtle charm that doesn’t completely steal the show.
