Before and After: Our Cottage Home in Franklin

📍 FRANKLIN, TN

From the moment I walked through the white wooden gate and heard the creak of the hinges, I knew this was the one, my new home. The bright energy filled my heart and I immediately saw that, with just a little of this and a little of that, I could make it my special place and so The Cottage on Roberts became a reality with it’s casual and rustic modern charm.

There is something special about Roberts, it’s as if I lived here before, there is a soul to his house, a connection that is indescribable.

I approach every design with a ‘feeling’. I wanted this home to have that southern welcoming hospitality. I envisioned my kids laying on a comfortable sofa…(with their phones, being realistic here), while Mike watched his supercross and me in the kitchen having a cocktail as I attempt to make a meal (I’m still not the best cook). This feeling and vision is how I begin designing, curating furniture, art, and really adding that personality to every space.

My team and I had 30 days to get the house ready and luckily it needed very little construction. A new kitchen backsplash, fresh paint, some wallcovering and updated light fixtures was all she really needed…oh and a new vanity for the 2nd bath. I am so in love with this house and happy with how it turned out. My most favorite part is when the afternoon sun filters through the windows. The simplicity of the rays gives this home a glow of beauty and it’s quite remarkable.
