Chimney Rock Project by Studio Plow
Nestled at the base of a 14,000-foot mountain range sits a family inspired home with views of the Rocky Mountains, ancient red rock formations and an expansive Colorado Springs cityscape.
Designed for her parents by Sonoma based architect and founder of Studio Plow, Brit Epperson, this 3000 sq ft home is a study in exceptional architectural and design detail in connection to the land it was built on. “The rolling hills and dramatic sunsets of Sonoma Wine Country play differently than the pines and granite, quartz, and mica of Colorado,” Epperson says, adding, “We actually had the client gather rock from the site and mail them to us in San Francisco.”
The interior color palette takes inspiration from the warm, earthy hues of its natural surroundings. Epperson explained the “soft greens of the native junipers and sagebrush; the fall colors of the aspen trees; and the soft pinks, browns and ivory of the native limestone and sandstone.”
Organic shapes, modern lines and a consistent color palette creates the bespoke, forever home of Chimney Rock. Where the connection of family and the beauty of nature form a story for the generations to come.
